What's the name of this guy?
He’s a Canadian inventor whose inventions are similar to pre cinematic devices like the kinetoscope, mutoscope, magic lantern, cinematographe, etch. He was born in the 1960s and I believe his first name is Dave or David. Also, there was a book written about his inventions in the 1980s. I don’t believe the book was ever popular at all because on Amazon it dosn’t even have a cover. That is all the information I can remember about him. I wrote down his name a while ago but I lost the paper I wrote it on. Help is wanted. Thanks.

How does these decorations for my Halloween party sound? Yes No? Suggestions?
When you drive up:
Balloons on the mailbox
Walk around to the deck and strobe lights/party lights
Once you get on the deck all the music is loud and bumpin
Skull garland on the rails of the deck and on the balcony
Orange and black crepe paper on the roof of the patio and/or wrapped around trees
Blood on the patio door (fake of course)
Orange lanterns hanging from trees
Orange and black balloons going down the stairs of the deck and stone stairs
Yellow police "do not cross" line with blood around this pile of branches I just cut down and put giant furry automatic spiders on the pile
Dangling (fake) black widows form the trees
How does it sound from 1-10

Can you tell me what song is and when is it played?i would like to have the lyrics to it? Thank you?
It all began in 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison’s Landing in Virginia. The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land. During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moan of a soldier who lay mortally wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, the captain decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment. When the captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead. The captain lit a lantern. Suddenly he caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his own son. The boy has been studying music in the South when the war broke out. Without telling his father, he enlisted in the Confederate Army. The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors to give his son a full military burial despite his enemy status. His request was partially granted. The captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members play a funeral dirge of the son at the funeral. That request was turned down since the soldier was a Confederate. Out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician. The captain chose a bugler. He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he found on a piece of paper in the pocket of the dead youth’s uniform. This wish was granted. This music was the haunting melody we now know as
Bridge man what about the rest of the question, you forgot when is it played? and the lyrics to it?

Is this a good example of the typical obama supporter?
One of the good things about starting work early every day is that on most days, as I head East towards the office, I can almost see the sunrise. Little glimmers of opaque early morning light slipping through the trees and buildings and telephone poles. Today was no exception and adding to this beautiful morning routine between me and God was a pleasant light morning breeze carrying a cool, autumn-like temperature. We dont get many cool days here in Miami so when the temperature drops even just a little and the usual humidity is on hiatus, you take note and you enjoy it.
I roll my windows down in my truck and enjoy this little gift as I make my way to the office. It’s Friday, you see, every working man’s favorite day of the week and I’m basking in it and the colors of sunrise and the cool morning breeze and even though Im headed for another grueling day at the office, Ive got a smile on my face. Im taking deep breaths and enjoying the sights around me. Lawns look a little greener, trees look a little fuller, traffic lights change a little quicker and it seems as if Miami drivers are on lithium this morning. It’s actually a pleasant drive to work today.
As I near the office, I take my usual shortcut through a small residential avenue that takes me to a major street without all the traffic. Parents are walking out of their homes with their kids and bookbags in tow. Jack-O-Lanterns and cobwebs and witches adorn most of the homes. Terry-cloth robed folks are walking outside to pick up their morning papers. It’s the typical, serene, American suburbia morning playing out in front of me and convincing me that, despite all we’ve been dealing with news wise lately, everything is normal.
It’s a great morning and Im feeling good. I’m unusually cheery and, doggone it, it’s gonna be a great day!
I reach the main street that I need to turn into. There’s the usual back-up of traffic from the light down the street and I set my right turn indicator on. Most days, I have to wait to make my right turn as this is Miami after all and sad to say, we dont hav emany courteous drivers here that will let you make that turn in front of them.
But today is different, you see. The sunrise shines a little brighter, the morning breeze is a little cooler, it’s Friday , birds are starting to sing and one nice gentleman in a Volvo has just given the wave to turn onto the street in front of him.
I make my turn, stick my hand out the window and thank the nice man in shirt collar and tie for his kindness on this beautiful Friday morning. What a glorious day!
As I make my way towards the traffic light a block or so down, in my rearview mirror I notice the kind gentleman in the Volvo is kinda tailgating me. It’s not something odd for this city, so I drive just a little more carefully. Besides, it is, truly, a beautiful morning.
As I approach the light where I make my left turn, I click on the left turn indicator, look into the rearview and as I swerve into the left turn lane, I can see the kind gentleman in the Volvo behind me lookng a little angry. Perhaps, I think to myself, he’s having an argument on the phone or something.
I make it to the light and as Im waiting for the oncoming traffic to clear to make my left the nice gentleman in the Volvo pulls up next to me, stops even though he has a green light and there’s a slew of cars behind him and rolls down his window.
"If I knew you were a McCain supporter," he yells. "I wouldnt have let you in, you fascist!"

Am I the only fossil here who can remember the days of the old Out House?
Oh the memory of the out house toilet. For paper we used the Sears or Montgomery Ward catalog pages. They were glossy and not conducive to a good cleaning job. The wooden hole had slivers too, but worst of all were the Black Widow spiders that lived under it. We would strain trying to get the job done before a spider would crawl out on your butt. In the winter we often had to dig a path in the snow and away from the door.
We tried to always do our job during the daylight, because at night it meant carrying the coal oil lantern out there and hope the wind didn’t blow it out. Wow, the modern toilet has to be high on the list if important inventions. Any of you old timers remember the out house?

How does this plot sound?
A library. A book. A tunnel. A whole new life.
16 year old Paige Abel wants anything that she doesn’t have: a new car, perfect grades, for her parents to stop fighting. Oh, and did we mention that all she wants is to be grown up, have her own house, and a perfect job?
Another research paper is what leads Paige to the library and to this book. She is roaming the halls, looking for book, when she finally finds it. She pulls the book off of the shelf and suddenly the whole wall flips over to reveal a dark tunnel, lit with only a single lantern on the wall. Paige goes down the hall…
She wakes up the next morning in a totally different bed, a different house, and a different town. She groggily wakes up and realizes she is a different person!
Paige is 28 now, and has a new life. How will Paige cope with the struggles of a new life and a job?

What do you think about this love poem I wrote? Titled: Solace?
Solace
I set my heart out on the paper,
digital freedom,
syndicated eulogies stray,
like frost in the meadow,
still it’ll lead me on the trail to you,
physically adept to the situation,
your smile ignites freely,
elation.
I’ll follow the cobblestones,
into the metamorphosis,
I’ll wait for you,
in the rain as the moonlight,
glistens,
do you know me?
Like the back of cardboard boxes,
is my detail still descriptive enough?
Am I still carved like a jack o’ lantern,
or still open freely like talking mouths?
Will you understand the warmth,
you give me?
I’ll set my heart upon the stage,
we’ll spoon together in the afterlife,
in all my reverie,
you are photographs,
sketched elegantly like hands,
calloused, history behind,
the scars,
you are the art work,
of the billions of stars,
up in the starry night.
You are solace.

What are some good Halloween Themed Engagement Party game/activity ideas?
My Fiancees mom is hosting a Halloween Themed Engagement Party in our honor next week, but she put us in charge of the games. There will be all adults, no alcohol, no nudity, etc. We’re trying to find games/ activities that will get everybody mingling and having fun. The games/activities we have so far are:
-a "match game" where you pick a piece of paper out of a cauldron when you first get there, and the object is to find the person with the matching word (ex. gravestone & cemetery, bat & bell fry, vampire & blood, etc.), this is just to get the guests who dont know each other to begin mingling.
-A costume contest (we have trophys for best costume, scariest costume, cutest (not skankiest) costume, and funniest costume)
-Bobbing for apples
Id like to do a "digital scavenger hunt" where the teams will have to find & take photos of themselves with a list of items pertaining to halloween, and some that have to do with us. (ex, a happy jack o lantern, 2 names on gravestones that start with M & D-our names start with M&D- and possibly a photo of a member of each team sprawled on a cop car). Another idea is a "murder mystery" where we pull 1 person aside and tell that person they’re the killer. Everyone walks around a room and the Killer "winks" at 3-5 people, if the killer winks at you, you have to "die" in the most dramatic way possible. After 3-5 people "die" everyone has 1 try to guess who the killer is.
We need a game where we can give out 1st 2nd and 3rd place ribbons, please give me ideas! Thank you!!!
